Too many in our culture are turned off by church. The church is irrelevant for many of these people. They have come to believe the hateful rhetoric coming from churches and Christians. Therefore, they feel they are beyond salvation and grace. They feel they have ‘screwed up’ too badly to ever be acceptable to God. Many are just tired of being told how terrible they are.
Some are singles. Many are gay. Others have addictions or experienced some other traumatic life event. They feel they would be unwelcome at church. They are often right. Some are just tired of the politics and infighting that exists in most churches. Therefore, there are many misconceptions re: Jesus and being a follower of Jesus.
This blog is dedicated to these.
I want to talk to you about your acceptance to God. And your inclusion in all the Bible says is true of people. That you matter to God. No matter what. Nothing you have done, nor will do, will ever change God’s acceptance of you and His love for you.
I want to talk with you about what is a follower of Jesus Christ? What is your identity in Christ? Hint: it’s different than you have been told or come to believe.
The Church must admit [accept] its responsibility for this. Repent of sending too many so many people away from God when it should be drawing people to Him. And get back to the message of love and unconditional acceptance that is the very being of Jesus.
I am dedicated to this.
